• Plenty to Learn for Jurgen Evers After Max5 Mazda Cup Debut

EJ Automotive team owner Jurgen Evers stepped back behind the wheel this weekend, making his racing debut in the Max5 Mazda Cup after 13 years away from competitive racing. The meeting took place at the TT Circuit in Assen, a track Evers had never driven before — setting the stage for a steep learning curve.

With limited experience of the Max5 racer and an unfamiliar circuit, Evers faced a tough introduction to the series. Rain during the last two races of the day added to the challenge, but he comes away with valuable laps and lessons banked for the future.

“It’s been 13 years since I last raced, so stepping back into a car — and on a track I’d never seen — was always going to be a challenge,” said Evers. “The rain during the last two races of the day didn’t help either, but there’s plenty to work on and I enjoyed every minute of it. I’m already looking ahead to next season.”

  • EJ Automotive Team Owner Jurgen Evers Returns to Racing at Max5 Cup, Assen

EJ Automotive announces that team owner Jurgen Evers will return to competitive racing on September 8th, taking to the grid at the Max5 Cup in Assen.

The event marks Evers’ first race in over a decade. His last competitive outing came in 2013 at Silverstone, where he raced a Formula Ford in the Walter Hays Trophy.

Since then, Evers has focused on building and running EJ Automotive as a team owner. His return to the cockpit at Assen represents a new chapter — swapping the pit wall for the driver’s seat once again.

  • EJ Automotive Mazda MX5 Cars Take Pole and Double Win at Nürburgring

EJ Automotive’s Mazda MX5 Cup cars, run by Dutch outfit Ferry Monster Autosport for the Benelux Mazda MX5 Cup round at the Nürburgring, delivered a dominant weekend, taking pole position and winning both races with driver Lorenzo van Riet.

Van Riet topped qualifying and converted pole into victory in both races of the weekend, showing strong pace throughout. Also flying the EJ Automotive flag was Pim van Riet, Lorenzo’s father, who brought his car home in 5th and 8th place across the two races.

A standout result for the EJ Automotive-built MX5s, proving their pace in the hands of the Ferry Monster Autosport squad.
